I was an “A” student in elementary school and the target of numerous bullies who were trying to compensate for their poor academic performances by being “cool” and picking on those who were more vulnerable. That would be me (and a few others). It didn’t help that I had broken my leg (at the age of seven and was picked on even more for being on crutches). This ended in high school, since I attended the prestigious Bronx High School of Science which requires a genius level IQ score on their entrance exam and is thus a Mecca for those who were bullied in grade school (I smile at this).
It was here that I began my martial arts studies with a vicious Bronx, NY sensei who eventually had his teaching license taken away. My best friend, a noted Tai Chi Master – I taught at his school. With 37 years training under my “belt” (including the U.S. and Okinawa – I’m familiar with ways to protect yourself in very violent ways.
I enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19 and taught self defense there. As time went on, I realized that much of this had to do with my childhood rage against those bullies.
It’s ironic, but in an episode of “Kung Fu” (starring the late David Carradine), a Shaolin priest was asked “Is there a preferred method for dealing with aggression?” he answered, “Yes – Run away.”
Now, I don’t expect kids to understand this. That boy had every right to protect himself. However…
This is a sad event and not one for those who have been bullied (and are now adults) to vicariously live through. I look at it three ways:
• He could have easily killed that kid by slamming him head first into concrete. Is “death” an equitable punishment in this case? Remember – I don’t fault this boy for protecting himself. But imagine the potential tragedy that could have followed him for the rest of his life.
• Knowing what I know now – I could easily cripple or seriously injure those who bullied me in the past. So I ask myself, “If I could go back in time, how much satisfaction would I achieve by this?” Hopefully, the answer is obvious.
• For those who have been let down by loved ones and the “system”, I understand. I’ve been there. But let’s stop for a minute and see this for what it is. This poor boy is not some “hero” standing up for those who have been downtrodden. He is a victim – (and believe it or not) as much a victim as that screwed up kid who has somehow made it to a point in his life where he feels the need to attack those who he feels will not fight back. This is usually the psychology of the abused (in some form or another).
I’m just putting in my own two cents, here – as a kid who was seriously bullied and who eventually became a very deadly individual who (Thank God), learned not to strike out at the past…
Henry,
You have sage words, it is very fortunate that no one was permanently injured or even killed.
We can learn a lot from this. What we need more of is others to rise up and condemn bullying while it is happening; but for that to happen, we need more children with “Character”. Strong character to say wrong is wrong!
If I was bullied, it really was for such a short while, a day or so, so I have not much experience to share.
I do remember my father being very against bullying, he spoke of a “Freddie” in his school, whom others seemed to love to pick on, My father stated he always stood up for Freddie. One day, years later, my Father met up with Freddie, he had become a giant of a man, one who might scare you in a dark alley; but he did have his same sweet personality. Freddie was grateful to my Father, and he him self had become a defender of the abused. This story, I always shared with my 3 sons, and I have found that they have character.
My oldest did suffer some bullying at a new school for a short while, the offender was half my son’s size! Such a stupid child! When I asked my son why he did not just take the offender down and sit on him until a teacher, or myself arrived, he said “because he wears himself out so well on my book bag”. David would hold his book bag in front of himself, and this idiot would just flail against it!
All for what?
It makes you wonder what that kid was really flailing against. I agree with you, though, the solutions must come from the adults (parents and teachers). When I look at that video, I don’t see a “hero” standing up to a bully. I see two kids who need some therapy to assist with self-esteem issues. I’m sure there’s a psychiatrist or psychologist out there who might agree with me. But I can appreciate your words…
Yeah cause psychiatrists and psychologists have ever really helped anybody. Just some men and women with letters behind their names and heads up their asses.
Casey, it would be my honor to be your friend. You, good sir, have the ballz the size of Texas. Be proud and walk with God. My friends and family here in Houston support you and wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Markus Perez
I am proud of what you have done, I have been bullied since I was a kid and the submissive thinking they instilled in me allows my boss and coworkers to treat me badly because of my fear. I wish that everybody had your courage because you did the right thing. Telling your teachers or parents never ever stops a bully, they only learn from the pain they inflict. Your my hero Casey Heynes.
You have more integrity, class and character than most adults I know. Despite being treated horribly for so many years you have emerged as a positive role model for kids everywhere and have helped thousands of kids the world over. I wish you nothing but the best in years to come.
I am proud of you, not only did you stand up for yourself you did just enough to stop it and walk away. In my eyes that was the grown thing to do and will support you all the way.
Wrong kind of compliment, dummy! That’s not a true compliment. You make Casey sound like he’s not a true hero. Shame on you.
When you compliment a person, you don’t add bad words because doing that makes you and the one you praise sound like villains. Besides, true heroes don’t use bad language.
But just because I’m telling you that, it doesn’t mean that I’m a goody-goody. I maybe an anti-hero but I have standards like lots of them.
Your the man good to see somebody finally taking a stand against bullys. I say sue the school for not protecting you from these scum that were bullying you. You definatly earnt my respect and freindship. The Punisher Rules Chifley
You may find this hard to believe but, five or six thousand miles away here in the U.S. you’ve given this 42 year old man hope.
You’re awesome dude, keep going, you can do whatever it is you want to do in life. Most of us have way more potential and ability then we believe about ourselves. I hope you’re seeing this about yourself now.
And so to tell you a story
It features a beast, it features a rat
With an ultimate moment of glory
For the beast, be sure of that
Our hero merely wanted a chat
With a couple of female friends
When, out of nowhere, appeared the rat
With the sole intention to offend
A squeaky, high-pitched irritation
“Have you talking shit?” It enquired
Our beast stared in silent contemplation
Of this, you could sense he was tired
The rat dealt a punch to the face
The beast took the blow, no recoil
Undeterred, the rat carried on in disgrace
But his plan was soon to be foiled
What followed were some jabs and pokes
The beast simply waited to strike
Unaffected by the rodent’s sad jokes
He didn’t care who or what he looked like
Soon after came the fateful moment
As, with a godlike speed
The beast lifted up the squeaky rodent
The warnings, the runt did not heed
The rat was helpless, unaware of his fate
The world stood still, what would follow?
The beast had endured a torrent of hate
But to him, the abuse was hollow
In a flash the villain was thrown to the ground
Karma had once again took its hold
A sickening crack could be heard all around
On the floor the pathetic rat rolled
An equally ugly mate of the runt
Unwisely confronted the beast
But this was to be no hunt
For our hero had had his feast
The beast turned away, satisfied with his work
The rat’s crony muttered some drivel
Wisely, a girl stepped in front of the jerk
Unlike this moron, her conduct was civil
And so we come to the end of our tale
The beast, he is a god amongst men
For he made sure that the rat’s mission would fail
And that, my friends, deserves ten out of ten!
Casey, I hope you read this. I am a 30 year old woman who was bullied relentlessly throughout high school because I was overweight, had braces, and was extremely shy.
I’m here to tell you that you’re wise beyond your years and you have tons of fans in Columbus, Ohio (USA).
After high school, I went away to college, made tons of friends, lost weight, and now … I’m a lawyer. Things get better. Chin up young man!
I just wanted to let you know that if my child were faced with the same situation you were and did what you did, I would proudly stand next to him in the school office and let him know that he did exactly what he should have. Defended himself. I hope you remember that the number of bullies and mean people in the world are far outnumbered by those that are good and kind-hearted. Please take care of yourself and surround yourself with people who know you’re worth…which is priceless in the eyes of God. God bless.
Casey you are a HERO and an inspiration to people all over the WORLD! You have the support of Texas (USA) behind you! You and your family should be proud! I’d be honored to stand next to you in a fight anytime! (Hopefully you will never have to do that again though). Best wishes!
Casey its a shame that their are people out there who make other people feel like they have to kill themselves to stop the bullshit,I dont know you but I am glad you hit back at the bully instead of ending your life You slayed the dragon mate, you can be who are and be stand proud.
Good for you, Casey! You’re a hero to everybody who has ever been bullied. I’m glad your family is supportive – my own brother was one of my worst tormentors. I’m now 63 years old and have never forgotten what it was like. I hope you continue to feel good about yourself, you deserve it!
Casey, as a boy who was picked on so many years during elementary and middle school, my tears well up as I hear your story. I wish I had the fortitude to do what you did. But I tell you, years from now, your detractors will look upon your success and weep as well.
Be patient, because we all see many great things in your future!
Annoyed youtube keeps pulling down the videos and the teachers suspending casey for doing the right thing – all this injustice. We are finally fighting back. The ACA interview was good, would have liked to hear a bit more from Casey. Casey – you are better than you think you are, and when you slammed that little shit, you realized the real power you are capable off. It’s always been within you, but repressed. Now that it’s out, let it grow and flow throughout your whole body and mind. You claimed back your human right to confidence. Never let go of that and breathe in all the support from the thousands that love you. It will carry you through the rest of school and make you very successful in life.
You deserve the best after all the bullying and abandonment of your prick friends. There was mention of a fund to be set up for you, I’d gladly donate and would love to see you drive a sports car when you’re 18. The girls (or boys) – whatever you’re into, will be knocking your door down for you.
Casey – I wish you the best of luck for now and the rest of your life.
I to were bullied at school, EVERYDAY in country victoria. I never fought back and just tried to hide. I’m a very large guy and were bigger than them but they picked on me in groups. They are cowards and were egging each other on and getting their kicks by watching me suffer.
Casey watching you get bullied churned me up inside and knowing you went through the same thing saddened me greatly. Keep strong mate.
Another thing I wanted to say (I had written in youtube – they deleted it) is: I know Richard Gale may-be reading these comments. I have this to say to you RICHARD GALE – What gives YOU the right to punch Casey in the face?? What gives YOU the right to inflict pain on him?? You’re someone of no significance, simply a skinny shit putting on a tough act. You are piss weak since you need attention from others and need admiration and approval. You can’t simply walk in silence (like Casey) with your big mouth shut. Casey doesn’t need to put on a fake act like you, nor is he surrounded by mindless drones for friends and support. Try and walk a day in HIS shoes and see how you like it – you got a taste of his emotions when he slammed you. The pain you felt when you hit concrete – is the same mental torture you inflicted on Casey – HURTS DOESN’T IT??? Pity your puny brain couldn’t work this out before you picked on him. You were too busy impressing your friends so they liked you more – at the expense of an innocent person WHO IS A BETTER PERSON THAN YOU in every respect. Casey doesn’t need admiration and approval, he has a strong soul. You on the other hand need others to build your confidence and make you appear bigger than you are – without their praises on you – YOU’D BE NOTHING. That’s utter weakness – in reality you’re a coward, dressed up appear tough. FAKE!!!
Your mindless friends who back you up are no different. They need to stop worshipping a fake shit like you and support a REAL person of substance and soul – and THAT person is CASEY.
Also, Casey is NOT FAT you silly fools, he is a solid boy, much better than being a scrawny skinny insect.
I have been following your story Casey since it appeared and I just want to say how impressed I am watching you being interviewed. What a brilliant and sweet young man you seem! Don’t let stupid people get you down. You obviously have a heart of gold. Stay positive and know you are never alone. And you have the BEST sister in the world! What a wonderful family you have! Stay strong young man! You will be someone truely special one day.
You are a true hero. In fact, I used your story, what lead up to this, as a teaching tool to my own children that they should never, ever act in the manner that these bullies did, or go with that “pack” mentality that groups people together to target those weaker than themselves, because there is a REAL person, with REAL FEELINGS, that this is happening to. Then they watched the interview, they saw what a well spoken, articulate young man Casey is, and heard him tell the stories of how he had no friends, and how what few he did had deserted him. They both could not believe it and readily said, “He seems so nice! Why would anyone pick on him! I would love to be his friend!” And, Casey, I would love for them to be friends with someone like you. Keep your chin up, you have the whole world at your side now.
The more evidence we have of the kind of man Casey is, the more impressive he is. Casey’s father seems a very kind, gentle man of conscience. The problem is that people as kind, gentle and genuinely good as Casey’s father and Casey sometimes have a hard time surviving in this nasty world of ours. Casey doesn’t want to hurt anyone, and Casey’s father doesn’t like the idea of anyone being hurt. But at some point, it’s necessary to fight. I think the kindest, gentlest children often wind up being bullied, unfortunately.
Casey, you are truly a hero. You came across so eloquently in this video. You obviously have a kind heart and are a good man.
THANK YOU for slapping down the bully, Richard Gale. The entire world is behind you 100%.
I am quite sure that smiling is not something you have done very much of in the past few years. I have been following your story since it started and just now watched your interview on A Currant Affair. Yoy have an awesome smile and never let that smile leave your face. You have plenty to smile about now.
I would be honored to call you a friend. Hold your head high and follow your dreams.
hey Casey and family
i have supported you through this since i saw in on the news and i truly believe you have the support of the world ,Casey seems to be a a lovely young man who will grow into a fine man ,go Casey we are all supporting you , my son was bullied last year i will show him this video to show him the bullies dont always win and too keep his chin up as Casey did
well done casey be proud of yourself
cheer support from Mandurah
I think you are amazing, i was bullied in school for being different it has back fired now as most of the bully’s are idiot’s and have nothing to live for! Thank you Casey! Your amazing!
I suffered from the same problem for years in school back in Brazil, to the point I was having snacks by myself on break time, locked in the bathroom.
It was the same problem: I was a bit overweight and because of that I was getting screamed at in front of everyone, at any circumstances for the smallest thing I would say or do, and sometimes even spit on.
That was something i hide from my parents and I had to overcome by myself. I am so so so so proud of you boy – you put me in tears when I saw your video. You’re truly a hero – And I really think you could change bullying around the world. Use this media attention to go to schools and speak up for kids that need you! The nightmare is over, you will have a normal life and good friends from now on.
That little kid was really really stupid to pick on you Casey. Its a good thing you stopped when you did you could have REALLY hurt him. I also thank heavens that you weren’t the bully in this scenerio as you could have EASILY been. Kudos to you Casey!!!
I hope Casey gets to see this. In fact, I WANT Casey to see this. Casey, you’re a hero, to everyone who’s seen your video and your interview. My brother and I are big fans of yours. We wish you the best, keep your chin up, and keep your kind nature intact.
Being a victim of bullying my entire education all the way through primary and high school i can relate to you and you are a legend. Myself being overweight at the time i suffered name calling, physical abuse, cyber abuse, and phycological abuse from my peers.
Even tho you where backed into a corner, and you had no choice but to fight your way out, you walked away like a man by only doing what needed to be done, and that little rodent of a child who was picking on you got what he deserved.
And if anyone tells you otherwise they are just jealous of your zeal and courage.
You are an inspiration to victims of bullying all around the globe, and a classic example of where the underdog comes back on top.
great job. I myself have been bullied from age 3 to 15, it stopped only after I started hitting back. Having kids myself now, I tell them to never start a fight, but hit back if you get tormented. As you did.
This internet-meme will diminish, and probably the people tormenting you won’t stop immediately, or there will come others. But now you know how to deal with it. Tell them gently first to stop, and if they won’t take that escape route take appropriate measures. And what you did was totally appropriate with 8 vs 1. Then you go all-out, as you have no other choice. And stop when done.
Congrats. Stay modest and strong as you are, and leave the tormenting behind. Those times are over now.
I love how his dad tries to act all innocent. His kid gets duct taped to a pole and he claims to not know how bad it was? Give me a BREAK! Parents ALWAYS know how bad it is. This moron just couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it.
It’s really really sad to see someone who literally has no support system finally reach the edge and snap. Casey had no one in his corner. He was all alone. I experienced the exact same thing through ages 10-16. The only difference here is that I am a female and obviously didn’t have the physical strength to body slam the dweebs who tormented me.
The Casey story brings a tear to my eye. He’s such an inspiration to kids and adults who have experienced bullying to this extent. It’s been said thousands of times already, but Casey, you ARE a hero.
Everyone is supporting you Casey. You are a true hero. You stood up for youself, hopefully others who are bullied on will follow your example. Greetings from Beglium (Antwerp, Europe)
Hey casey. I’m so glad you stood up for yourself, I hope that the school is watching their students. I would like to know where are the parents and if they are putting any action of a punishment to those boys that were doing the bullying. I watched your interview. You have the right attitude and you will very far in the future.
You are amazing…………
Casey
good on you for sticking up for yourself.
I wish I had the courage too.
Looking back on all those yrs I got bullied at school, I wish I had done what you did.
I fully support what you did and the little shit deserved it.
If you ever have any issues at school again, I’ll personally come down and slap some of their heads with you.LOL
I don’t condone violence unless it is in self defense and you did the right thing.
Your parents should be pressing charges against the school for what has been going on, the school has a duty of care toward your safety whilst you are there.
This has been going on for a long time but the school chose to turn a blind eye to it.
Tell your parents to get a lawyer and sue them.
You’re a brave kid, don’t let anyone put you down ever again.
The school Principal and teachers who knew about the bullying of Casey should be sacked for letting this go on for so long. Not enough to ignore this child for 3 years, they then suspend him when he can’t take it anymore. Get real. Wonder how little Dick and his gutless mates standing around feel now? You are a gorgeous kid Casey. Always be yourself.
Hey Casey. You did the right thing. No one has a right to punch you or pick on you. You handled the situation correctly. I am a police officer in the USA and I have seen a lot of victims over the years. People need to fight back. Stay as you are…be level headed…don’t start fights just finish them. As you grow older, remember this lesson and do good for others. Don’t let fame go to your head!! Stay strong little brother!!
Well mate all i can say is they deserved what they got. people dont relized that all this crap in school yards is about image and to get a rep but they soon relize that its all for the wrong reasons some lose it some go on to more and worst things in life like jail and crime .
Let me tell the rest of australia that the education department has a lot to answer for school today are a friggin joke they thing by expelling kids is the answer .Its not it just gives them and avenue to get outta school its the education departments way of dealing with troubled kids and with there days of suppentions they head off do to the local shopping centres and sit there all day or stay home playing xbox or play stations .
also i know a women who is trying to get her son into school but finding it hard because he has special needs and school of today carnt cater for him and he hasnt been to school in over 10 months because they have no funding or a class for him.
So what the poor kid has to sit at home untill the education department get off there ass and help kids like this .
This is where crap like this starts with kids like casey there denyied the education they deserve then kids pick on em because there diffrent or slow and robbed because its all brushed under the carpet. Then to make matters worst they bring in teachers or welfare officers who are text book bandits who have no idea on how to solve real problems .
REALLY ALL THIS SORT OF CRAP WILL STOP WHEN THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT STAND UP AND MAN THERE POST ! ! !
WHY TO GO CASEY STAND TALL LEAD THE WAY TAKE NO CRAP AND STAND UP FOR YA RIGHT YOUR A REAL CHAMP !
Casey if you read this,
You ARE a hero for standing up for yourself! I was bullied for years and i wish i had your currage!
Your video is known all over the world (holland in my case).
One moment you are alle alone, nobody to hang out with and one moment later people let you know that they were bullied to, had the same feelings and same thoughts you did and made you feel your not alone. And than you know howmany people want to hogh five you! You are going to make it in this world and don’t trust anyone who claims to be your friend…they want to tag along on your succes!
You are a hero for all the people who have been bullied and pushed around their entire life!
You are a bright and handsome boy so you are going ro make it in life!
Take up all the sports you like.. Football, Wrestling, Martial Arts.. go for it.. you will build up the muscles to continue to whip butt.. I bet there won’t be any more BAD DAYS.. ONLY GOOD DAYS AHEAD!!!
Congratulations boy, I have 17 years old, I’vee been suffering Bully since I was 8 years, the only difference here in Brazil is that the Bully is quieter. I hope that with your example people stop acting like complete idiots… and Grow. The only thing that keeps me head on is that I believe I am above them. And make a joke that one day I will be their boss.
Casey heynes, The punisher.
Casey, you’re such a great man. That was enough and you teached that little bastard a lesson. He deserved a broken knee.
If you lived at Brazil it would be a pleasure to know you and be your friend.
Boy, everybody will respect you now. You have a great future.
Hello, Casey. I am sympathetic to you. I’m 42 y.o. and I’m from Brasil.
Girls also suffer bullying. I suffered such abuse as a teenager. Everything was reason to bother me, because I was too tall, too white, too shy, because I wore glasses. They came to defame me, saying I was gay and some girls were trying to test me, hinting to me. I have suffered many humiliations over 3 years. II have not thought about suicide but I wanted to die.
What made me put a stop was to see one of my best friends approach the group who humiliated me. That day I decided I would not give more importance to those people, I decided that I deserved to be happy and that only my few real friends and my family deserved my attention.
Since that time have achieved many good things in life, and believe you will also win. Love yourself, respect yourself. Each of us is unique and has an intrinsic value.
CASEY YOU IS A HERO I DON’T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL BUT I’M WYTH YOU,BECAUSE YOU IS MY HERO I have suffered BULLY IN MY COLLEGE BECAUSE OF MY NAME CONGRADULATIONS YOU IS THE ”ZANGIEF” (STREET FIGHTER)THE PUNISHER
There was an interview on the morning news this morning where a woman said that Casey should have walked away and sought out a principal or teacher. I completely disagree! Our son came to us with bullying issues. We sought the advice and intervention of school administators and teachers, all to no avail. They don’t want to get involved. We told our son to defend himself. He kicked the bully’s behind. Violence is the only language that gets through to them.
Good for you, Casey. You handled the situation admirably. But, I was even more impressed by the type of person you seem to be. I don’t know many adults who are as honest, kind and intelligent as you.
I can’t imagine how tough the last few years have been, but it’s obvious you’ve got a great future. Hang in there, and you’ll accomplish great things.
By the way, much respect to the father and sister. Seems like a great family.
Casey I hope you read this, you will be friendless no more! The most important thing is that you deserved to have friends before this incident just as much as you do now! You are a real man!
Hey, Casey, i’m also from Brasil and you’re amazing, dude! You did what you had to do and that’s it. You were strong, and also honourable when you just walked away. Like my father always said to me: “You should never start a fight, but if someone starts one with you, make sure you finish it”.
Seeing this interview you’re a great guy and i bet you’re going to do great in life, just keep the hope up and stand your ground, don’t let those faggots try and take your confidence away, now you have the entire world at your back while they have nothing, you took everything they have at that moment.
I hope there will only be good days from now on, and you have success in everything you try from now on.
As a young man growing up, i was bullied, so often my life was hell.
You were backed in to a corner, then tormented again and again.
I have watched the interviews, and its clear Ritchard is not apologetic.
Whilst normally i would not condone any type of violence, you DEFENDED yourself. Your actions garnished silence at the time, as everyone stood there, gobsmacked.
Now hear the roar of THE WORLD, THE INTERNET WE ARE ALL CHEERING! Never forget, you have the support of hundreds of thousands of people, from greenland, to brazil, russia, to new zealand – hear us as we applaud you, not only in your actions but the way u have conducted yourself since then. Your interview is an inspiration to us all
At the time i write this you have 158,000 new friends on a single facebook page. You have hundreds of thousands of people ALL are your friends!
As said upwords, you have a lot of fans in Brazil. It’s true. I am one of them.
I don’t want to take long, just want to say that I know what you’ve been throuth. People like them are all around us. And it happened to me in school. Unfortunately it didn’t got better in college. But I have a few good friends that are better worth than a thousand. The true value of friendship helps me. So does my family. I’m glad your family is supportive! Cherish them well.
Be proud of who you are, always!
And keep up the good work!
Hi, My friend, Al Peasland, is a leading self defence and personal safety expert http://www.completeselfprotection.com and was also bullied throughout his school years like Casey. He has written a number of articles and recorded a short video about the Casey Heynes bullying incident. When you ge a moment please check them out.
I was bullied as a kid as well, those very people are now looking at your video and saying how wrong Richard Gale was but they were just as guilty doing it to me, you know what in life people can be very two faced, in fact many on here writing comments have probably been bullies as well.
I want to say this to you, you did what you had to do, pushed into a corner and you reacted as any survivor would, you fought your way out and you now have received a weight off your shoulders, good luck to you and enjoy school and learning as you should now, get some good friends and keep them close but whatever you do never become the bully… you are better than that!
As an FYI, I went on to join the British Army, have a great set of friends, a wife and a daughter, I have a great job and my life is now good, you will get that too just keep your values right and treat others as you want to be treated but if you need to defend yourself again, just do it….
If there is a God I sincerely hope that that God will give you guidance and keep you safe
Chin up kid, you are beautiful in so many ways many of which you are still yet to find out
Great interview with Casey. We’re all on your side kid! You can tell in the other video that Ritchard is a liar. He’s not even really sorry. What a loser that little booger is.
Dear Casey,How are you doing, mate? You certainly did have the right to defend yourself. I remember this older kid that used my lunch as a football (American, that is). He picked on other people until one day, at a gas station, he was sent to the hospital because a guy hit him so hard he broke a bone in his face. I decided to forgive him. I hope you find it in you heart to forgive Ritchard as well. He left a note on your doorstep. I like the Australian accent. I think you two will be good friends. Now that’s something I would love to see on you tube: a peace treaty! Both of you take care
I mean, you cant be mad at Casey.. He did what he SHOULD have done. I have been bullied abit ( quite alot actually) and i have never had the guts to just say stop. But you Casey, you are a TRUE symbol. Every person in the world should honor you for what you did. I love you man. I mean it. I’m going to think about what you did till the day i die. Casey, your the man.
Great that the kid stood up for himself. This is a lesson to everyone that sometimes the one who are being bullied will reach to a point that they need to defend themselves. As the saying says do not do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you. I just want to share this application that I got for my kids protection so that bullying of any kind will be avoided. By just pressing the panic button they could ask immediate help from us, friends and if needed to the nearest 911 in your area. To learn more about the service check this out http://Safekidzone.com
This little guy have a LOT of fans here in Brasil!
You are THE MAN!
Take care!

That would be me (and a few others). It didn’t help that I had broken my leg (at the age of seven and was picked on even more for being on crutches).
CASEYYYY your my HEROOOOO mannn,, good decision, do not give up never in your life, there will be more beautifull things in the future.
The animation is not from South Korea and the interview is kinda stupid, but Casey’s the Man, damn! I wish him all the best!
Casey Heynes,
I am proud of what you have done, I have been bullied since I was a kid and the submissive thinking they instilled in me allows my boss and coworkers to treat me badly because of my fear. I wish that everybody had your courage because you did the right thing. Telling your teachers or parents never ever stops a bully, they only learn from the pain they inflict. Your my hero Casey Heynes.
A
Casey, if you see this –
You have more integrity, class and character than most adults I know. Despite being treated horribly for so many years you have emerged as a positive role model for kids everywhere and have helped thousands of kids the world over. I wish you nothing but the best in years to come.
xo
I am proud of you, not only did you stand up for yourself you did just enough to stop it and walk away. In my eyes that was the grown thing to do and will support you all the way.
What we are seeing, my friends, is God being interviewed.
You are my fucking HERO!!! xD
Well put!
Not true. You never compliment somebody for using that kind of language. Otherwise, you”d be like a bully. And I loathe bullies
Absolutely, I back up lantenec’s comment – Casey should know that he has more potential and ability thane he would ever believe.
And so to tell you a story
It features a beast, it features a rat
With an ultimate moment of glory
For the beast, be sure of that
Our hero merely wanted a chat
With a couple of female friends
When, out of nowhere, appeared the rat
With the sole intention to offend
A squeaky, high-pitched irritation
“Have you talking shit?” It enquired
Our beast stared in silent contemplation
Of this, you could sense he was tired
The rat dealt a punch to the face
The beast took the blow, no recoil
Undeterred, the rat carried on in disgrace
But his plan was soon to be foiled
What followed were some jabs and pokes
The beast simply waited to strike
Unaffected by the rodent’s sad jokes
He didn’t care who or what he looked like
Soon after came the fateful moment
As, with a godlike speed
The beast lifted up the squeaky rodent
The warnings, the runt did not heed
The rat was helpless, unaware of his fate
The world stood still, what would follow?
The beast had endured a torrent of hate
But to him, the abuse was hollow
In a flash the villain was thrown to the ground
Karma had once again took its hold
A sickening crack could be heard all around
On the floor the pathetic rat rolled
An equally ugly mate of the runt
Unwisely confronted the beast
But this was to be no hunt
For our hero had had his feast
The beast turned away, satisfied with his work
The rat’s crony muttered some drivel
Wisely, a girl stepped in front of the jerk
Unlike this moron, her conduct was civil
And so we come to the end of our tale
The beast, he is a god amongst men
For he made sure that the rat’s mission would fail
And that, my friends, deserves ten out of ten!
Casey, I hope you read this. I am a 30 year old woman who was bullied relentlessly throughout high school because I was overweight, had braces, and was extremely shy.
I’m here to tell you that you’re wise beyond your years and you have tons of fans in Columbus, Ohio (USA).
After high school, I went away to college, made tons of friends, lost weight, and now … I’m a lawyer. Things get better. Chin up young man!
I just wanted to let you know that if my child were faced with the same situation you were and did what you did, I would proudly stand next to him in the school office and let him know that he did exactly what he should have. Defended himself. I hope you remember that the number of bullies and mean people in the world are far outnumbered by those that are good and kind-hearted. Please take care of yourself and surround yourself with people who know you’re worth…which is priceless in the eyes of God. God bless.
The interview video was taken down from YouTube… Can anyone here upload it? I’d really like to hear this courageous man’s story.
YouTube pulled down the video.
Goddamn pricks.
New version is up. We’ll try to keep up current uploads until Channel 9 posts it online and we can get a stable version up.
Simply outstanding! Great! You`re the man!
Casey you are a HERO and an inspiration to people all over the WORLD! You have the support of Texas (USA) behind you! You and your family should be proud! I’d be honored to stand next to you in a fight anytime! (Hopefully you will never have to do that again though). Best wishes!
Casey its a shame that their are people out there who make other people feel like they have to kill themselves to stop the bullshit,I dont know you but I am glad you hit back at the bully instead of ending your life
You slayed the dragon mate, you can be who are and be stand proud.
Casey – I wish you the best of luck for now and the rest of your life.
totally agree with your comments George
True bro
i agree
Went throw alot of the same stuff you did Casey. I look up to you
Hey buddy another HI from Brasil!
You have a lot of fans here!
See ya…
I have been following your story Casey since it appeared and I just want to say how impressed I am watching you being interviewed. What a brilliant and sweet young man you seem! Don’t let stupid people get you down. You obviously have a heart of gold. Stay positive and know you are never alone. And you have the BEST sister in the world! What a wonderful family you have! Stay strong young man! You will be someone truely special one day.
Call that number at the end of the clip to hire Casey ;P
In all seriousness though, he is an absolute legend and has a friend from the UK!
Casey,
I am quite sure that smiling is not something you have done very much of in the past few years. I have been following your story since it started and just now watched your interview on A Currant Affair. Yoy have an awesome smile and never let that smile leave your face. You have plenty to smile about now.
I would be honored to call you a friend. Hold your head high and follow your dreams.
hey Casey and family
i have supported you through this since i saw in on the news and i truly believe you have the support of the world ,Casey seems to be a a lovely young man who will grow into a fine man ,go Casey we are all supporting you , my son was bullied last year i will show him this video to show him the bullies dont always win and too keep his chin up as Casey did
well done casey be proud of yourself
cheer support from Mandurah
all the way from New York, Casey you are our hero!!
little zangief!! the defender of the universe!! CASEEEYYYY HEYNESSSS!!!!
I think you are amazing, i was bullied in school for being different it has back fired now as most of the bully’s are idiot’s and have nothing to live for! Thank you Casey! Your amazing!
hey casey,
I suffered from the same problem for years in school back in Brazil, to the point I was having snacks by myself on break time, locked in the bathroom.
Love Love Love!!!! hero!!!!!!!!
Clarissa
That little kid was really really stupid to pick on you Casey. Its a good thing you stopped when you did you could have REALLY hurt him. I also thank heavens that you weren’t the bully in this scenerio as you could have EASILY been. Kudos to you Casey!!!
Hello Casey, I’m Brasilian, your fan and you have a lot a fans here, I wanna say don’t give up my friend, You Are The Guy!
God bless you!
Thank’s!
For the ladies. You’ve got to stand up for your selves too.
I hope Casey gets to see this. In fact, I WANT Casey to see this. Casey, you’re a hero, to everyone who’s seen your video and your interview. My brother and I are big fans of yours. We wish you the best, keep your chin up, and keep your kind nature intact.
Blessings from your friends in Mexico!
Casey,
Being a victim of bullying my entire education all the way through primary and high school i can relate to you and you are a legend.
You are an inspiration, and amazing.
Alex
Well done mate hats off to you, well done for standing up for yourself and kicking his arse. Got your back bro stay safe mate.
Casey,
Salut
Roel
You’re a brave kid, don’t let anyone put you down ever again.
go Casey!
Keep the faith, my Internet friend, You are a first-class writer and deserve to be heard.
Hey Casey,
Take up all the sports you like..
A hug from Brazil to Casey Heynes, the punisher.
good on you mate – about time there was someone who stuck up to a bully like I did in 1980. Keep up the spirit! No-one should bully anyone.
All the best
Scott
Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so, Excellent post!
IN THE BRAZIL I AM YOUR FRIEND
Casey, Just want to let you know I’m with you and I’m very proud of you. Regards from Brazil.
casey
i am proud of you for standing up for yourself. you are lucking to have a great sister.
good luck
mark
I have to say what everybody else says: you’re a true hero!
And we all look up to you
Greetings from Finland
Andy
Colorado, United States.
Casey I hope you read this, you will be friendless no more! The most important thing is that you deserved to have friends before this incident just as much as you do now! You are a real man!
Casey
I would be proud to call you my friend.
Stay strong
Kia Kaha
Keep strong and never give up.
Türkiyeden selamlar(hi from turkey)
helal olsun koçum tebrik ediyorum seni.
champion casey…Congratulations
Hi there Casey,
As a young man growing up, i was bullied, so often my life was hell.
You are the peoples champion!
Kia Kaha Casey (Stand Strong)
regards
Rick Spitzbart
Dear Casey,
As said upwords, you have a lot of fans in Brazil.
Sincerely,
Carol Aguiar

Hey Casey,
I was bullied as a kid as well, those very people are now looking at your video and saying how wrong Richard Gale was but they were just as guilty doing it to me, you know what in life people can be very two faced, in fact many on here writing comments have probably been bullies as well.

You rock! I also was bullied and i know exactly how we feel about that. you just had enough.
Hey Casey..not sure if you read whats on this site, buit for what its worth,im sure 99,9% of the ppl that has seen this is in your corner..
You defended yourself and did it in a good way..You could have kept going off on him,but you didnt, that to me shows just what kinda person you are..
Hope things are looking brighter for you now..
You have aloooot of support and fans here in Norway..
Where has the teachers been all these years of bulling. The school is as guilty as the kids.
As a victim of bullying in the past, I have to say: Casey, you’re the man.
I wished I had this courage by that time…
Great that the kid stood up for himself.
